Its that time of the year again, when plus two students have cleared their exams and are looking up for courses in various fields of interests. Its literally chaos this time with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Students are limited to online consultations of courses, as the pandemic has locked us in our homes .Their are a variety of options for children at 17, and they do poses all the means and facilities to avail them too. 1.Bachelor of Science in Nursing [BSc. Nursing]

This course allows you to enter into the field of nursing. A field that requires patience and perfection. With the demand of nurses on ahigh , this sector assures you a secured job for sure.

2.Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology[BSc.MLT]

The course work deals with study in examination and analysis of tissue sample, body fluids to understand and analyze the underylig cause of a specific disease , symptom or pathological condition. The course trains you to examine and analyze disease causes and help doctors with the diagnosis.

3.Bachelor of Science-Perfusion Technology[BSc.Perfusion Technology]

Bachelor’s in Perfusion Technology helps you to study the physiology and pathology of lungs and allied respiratory organs and also the heart. Cardiac perfusion technology teaches you the science of providing artificial support to the patients cardiac and respiratory system in case of emergency.

4.Bachelor of Science Medical Radiological Technology[BSC. MRT]

MRT is the science of diagnosing and treating patients using medical imaging procedures such as X ray, Computed tomography(CT) scan, Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan, Positron emission tomography (PET) scan and ultrasound. The course teaches you to diagnose diseases, accidental injuries, or underlying pathological conditions.

5.Bachelor of Science Optometry [BSc.Optometry]

Optometry involves the study of vision care . It include eyesight correction,prescribing corrective lenses, diagnosis and treatment of eye related diseases

6.Bachelor of Physiotherapy [B.P.T]

Physiotherapy teaches you to restore normal movement of your body by exercising, use of electrical and physical agents.  Mostly used post accident or trauma . Physiotherapists help bringing patients back to normal life post a surgery or accident. They also help relieve pain using mobility exercise and can help children who are born with disability to attain a functional body movement.

7.Bachelor of Audiology and Speech Language pathology[B.A.S.L.P]

This  trains individuals as Speech and Audiology doctors who help patients with speech impairment,speech correction, prescribing hearing aids and and giving therapy sessions for better speech.

8.Bachelor of Cardiovascular Technology [B.C.V.T]

Cardiovascular technologists assist cardiologists during surgeries and help them diagnosing cardiac and peripheral vascular ailment. The cardiologist assist physicians and help them monitor cardiac patients to recovery.

9.Bachelor of Dialysis Technology [BSc.D.T]

Dialysis technologist provide dialysis treatment  to patients suffering from kidney ailment. They work along with registered doctors and nurse to aid dialysis treatment


The paramedical field of education also offers diploma and certificate courses in the above mentioned areas of study, but the downside is the lack of options to pursue master’s once you do a diploma. Eligibility criteria in any government or private college is based on merit and that the student should have studied physics, chemistry and biology in plus two.Government seats are available in government colleges, government controlled self financing colleges and private self financing colleges that are ready to share  50% of their seats with the  Government.The courses have maximum duration of 4 years with a year of  hands on training in hospitals.
